La cosa che mi lascia sconcertato è la seguente.
Premetto che sono fazioso,quindi consapevoleche la bonnie sia nata prima e che la kawasaki ha preso la scia nel 1966 e nel 2004,sfruttando per l'ennesima volta il filone classico nel 2011 con la W800.
Altrettanto veritiero che se escludiamo la gamma modern classic dal listino triumph troviamo altresi un'azienda che come la kawasaki "insegue"
La nuova speed fa l'occhiolino alle giapponesi piu quotate e la gamma cruiser...io non mi pronuncio..ma sembrano delle HD!
Riassumendo il tutto,la W800 sotto l'aspetto del design è forse piu furba della bonneville,ci naviga nel look vintage,sotto tutti gli aspetti e che piaccia o no ha degli spunti di stile,raffinati e molto interessanti.
Per avere una sella con la stessa fattura bisogna spendere.
Per avere i cerchi in alluminio bisogna spendere.
Per avere i foderi forcella color alluminio bisogna spendere.
Per avere i doppi comandi regolabili bisogna spendere.
Per avere i supporti faro cromati bisogna spendere.
I carter e il motore sono bellissimi con quelle finiture...
Entrambi i parafanghi cromati.
Fanale posteriore ben proporzionato.
Doppi strumenti di serie.
Pedali freno e cambio cromati.
Gli specchi di serie sono grandi abbastanza da vederci bene senza doverli cambiare.
Etc ectc etc
La vedo ora. Sembra bella e ben curata. Non mi convincono per niente i fregi serbatoio: troppo americani. Staremo a vedere. Potrebbe prospettarsi anche un ulteriore incremento delle vendite delle nostre triumph, considerando che chi andrà a provare la kawa molto probabilmente passerà poi a vedere le nostre. Innamorandosene perdutamente.
Dal punto di vista storico ti devo correggere. La Kawasaki copia delle inglesi, in particolare delle BSA e non delle Triumph, nasce prima del 1966... nasce con il marchio giapponese Meguro, poi assorbito prima della metà degli anni '60 da Kawasaki. Le Meguro rimarchiate Kawasaki presero il suffisso W ed il bicilindrico parallelo ad aria rimase nei listini Kawasaki fino alla fine dei '70. La W650 è dunque una riedizione delle Meguro - Kawasaki anni '60, a sua volta copie delle BSA A7 e A10 dell'epoca. Da qui la sua somiglianza con la Bonneville ed in genere con tutte le inglesi degli anni 60. Inoltre, la W650 venne presentata nel 1999, ovvero circa 1 anno prima della Bonneville di Hinckley.

La W1 era la versione rimarchiata della K1 Meguro, che risaliva al 1960, a sua volta copia della BSA A7, la cui prima versione risale al 1946, mentre il twin frontemarcia risaliva all'anteguerra. La W1 è però più simile alla A7 Shooting Star del 1954.

In definitiva, l'ho già scritto altrove, la Kawasaki ha tutti i titoli per proporre una moto come la W800, perchè questa tipologia di motocicletta appartiene alla sua storia e non si tratta di una scimmiottatura della Bonneville.
Circa questa W800... ho letto qualcosa in giro per il web... l'estetica (corpi farfallati a parte) è come sempre bellissima. Mi rimane qualche dubbio su alcune scelte come il tamburo posteriore e la ciclistica un pò esile. Sotto questo aspetto la Bonneville mi sembra meglio progettata.
A me non interessa molto chi ha fatto per primo e chi ha copiato.
Mi rendo conto che oltre ad un giudizio imparziale che me la fà apprezzare scoprirò che ha i raggi che non si arrugginiscono (come altre numerose parti)che il freno posteriore a tamburo frena più del mio , che molte parti sono meglio curate,e magari costa anche meno!
Adoro la mia truxxi ma mi rendo conto che i jap spesso fanno le cose meglio.
Ben venga una valida concorrente per togliere la puzza sotto il naso alla triumph.

dite quello che volete ma questo video é quanto di più semplice si potesse fare per convincere un romanticone come me sulla bontà del prodotto.
Ciao, niente a togliere al tuo giudizio ma io ho avuto una w650 del 1999 e ho una bonneville t100 carburatori, posso dirti con tutta tranquillità che ciclisticamente sono molto simili, come motore la w non aveva effetto on off mi dirai era euro 1 vero ma la sua parte la faceva anche in potenza senza compromessi rispetto alla bonny, gran bella moto e di certo la kawa ha rispolverato il progetto, perchè questo è vecchio inquanto già dal 2005 anno in cui avevano deciso di non produrre più la w650, da tutto il mondo c'era la voglia di w e in rete si leggevano articoli di persuasione verso la kawa perchè riproponesse questa moto, forse il messaggio è arrivato, di certo avranno fatto un buon lavoro. Ora mi chiederai perchè l'hai venduta, con franchezza ti dico che il w650 come usato è ricercata e in particolare il modello 99-2000 per caratteristiche al telaio e potenza motore sound, venduta bene ho coronato un'altro sogno la particolare t100 giallonera pura Inglese perchè lì nata e cresciuta ed ora invecchia con me.
