Ciao Bortolo!
Quel parametro è messo a zero!
Il famoso valore per Max RPM for dwell by lob è portato a 500.

I received a MP from Italy… but i prefer to answer in the forum. Another members can be interested
Hello Valter
- My maps (without IAPS) use the max advance found in the Triump documentation.
- The synchronization parameters (base advance and choice of lobes'edges was certified by Irlmike and many other members). As i said in the topic, the "dwell by lobe" with the base advance (3°) is just used during the electric starter usage (under 500 rpm). the "idle advance" is bigger : 5°. Some bikes use an idle advance that is the base advance. In this case, "Dwell by lobe can be used for idle. "1" révolution without ignition was necessary with many lobes and older versions. If the engine starts with "0", it starts more quickly..
- The original coils are low-résistance coils (0.65 Ohm) ans the choice of Dwell is "short" or "1 ms" with "manual" option. "Auto" can be dangerous. Some coils were burned.. (in oil… like patatoes…)
- With high resistance coils (over 2.6 Ohms and under 5 Ohms) there is no problem with "Auto". But don't mix low resistance and high resistance coils. The choice of Dwell time is set after testing the coil of the "Channel one". And don't change the "min duration of discharge". "1800 us" is the min. value for thes coils.
- About the choice of the "rpm points". 1300 rpm is the end of "idle value" and 9700 rpm is the value of the "soft limiter". Over 9700 rpm advance is reduced. There is no more power but gas are allways burned.. so no destructive explosions in the exhausts. 10 000 rpm is the limiter. If you find a "false neutral gear", you don't break your engine during "full gas". The increment between the different value is (approx...) a constant number:
1700/1300 = 2300/1700 = 3100/2300 = 4100/3100 =5500/4100 =7300/5500 = 9700/7300...
- About the absolute "max. advance". A too big advance can destroy a piston. The choice of gazoline Research Octane Number (RON) is important. the default value by Triumph was the european 95RON (approx. 91AKI (RON+MON/2) in North America. If you choose a better gasoline you can increase the keying (1 or 2° for SP98RON).
About my maps with IAPS...
The increment of 5 kPascals is due to the value of pressure in the manifold during idle.
I think that it's a good base of keying for an engine from level of the sea to a mountain pass at 2500 m. If you have a bad feeling during some engine speeds, you should increase the values in a column if your engine is power missing, or you decrease if you hear bad knocking or if you feel bad vibrations.
